I’m doing my bachelor in Interior Architecture at the University of Applied Science Mainz in Germany. For me, architecture should be well connected with public space and the citizens, and deal with environmental and urban issues. I think no discipline unites with as many areas as architecture does. On one side you have the engineering and technology, on the other side design, art and social action. As an optimum, all these disciplines work together and create human habitations not only for the people but rather with the people, because everyone should have access to it.
The internship at Critical Concrete is interesting for me because it gives me a practical continuation of my theoretical background, alongside with insights of how an association like this creates connections within the architectural field.
As part of the critical concrete team I help out with practical work, handle preparations for Summer School and research around alternative technologies.
