Philip Horst has been born in Germany in the early 70s of the last millennium.
During his childhood he has moved several times and developed a wish for unstable situations on one hand and cosy spaces on another. When he was 17 he traveled to Australia and hitchhiked around the country, while east and west Germany got unified.
After Philip finished school he did a 15 month service as a spiritual director assistant at a hospital. Before and during his studies of visual arts he was traveling, testing strange situations, often performatively.
Philip worked for 5 years at the Technical University in Berlin. During this time he co- founded KUNSTrePUBLIK, which became the roof for many ventures of which the 2012 founded ZK/U in Berlin is among the sustainable ones.
Philip met Samuel Kalika in 2010, when Samuel and his dog Kahwa arrived from China to Berlin and helped building the ZK/U Residency.
