Samuel Carvalho holds a degree in Architecture from the Escola Superior Artística do Porto and has specialized in temporary architecture and place building projects throughout Europe. In Berlin he worked at Raumlabor for several years and was co-founder of the art collective ONOFF. His 2014 project “Bathing culture”, a project for a public bath in Gothenburg in collaboration with Raumlabor received the SAVG Architecture Award. After moving to Sweden he joined the Gothenburg Municipality and became guest tutor at Chalmers University in the course “Dare to Build” working in community projects in the periphery of Gothenburg.

Since 2023 he lives in Porto and works at Mext Mota-Engil, focusing on innovation and sustainability in the built environment.
