My name is Bianka and I am from Slovakia. I studied Portuguese Language and Literature in Brno and Porto, where I later returned for an internship in a cultural organization, Casa da Horta, at Ribeira — one of the city’s historical neighbourhoods.
Both of my stays had a great impact on me, and I wanted to continue exploring the city as well as learn about ecological and affordable building solutions. After completing my bachelor’s degree in June 2019, I started to look for projects and initiatives in Porto with sustainable and social values and “hands-on” approach, which I could join and focus on developing practical skills. I decided to apply for EVS/ESC at Critical Concrete because I find it a great opportunity to gain experience in sustainable construction while positively contributing to the local community.
